The Asus EEE PC 1000he white is a really sweet piece of kit. And what’s more, it’s not even that expensive either.

This computer is a netbook, which is basically like a laptop, but cheaper and worse. That may seem a bit harsh but we might as well be up front about it. However, as said above, the price tag and the functionality despite its slightly slower speed are exceptionally good in this case.

First of all, this little baby can last for almost 10 hours on battery! I remember the days when 1 hour seemed like a miracle, and now this really is impressive. It also has a 10 inch screen, not massive, but comfortable for most applications. The other thing about this machine which I particularly like is the size of the keyboard. Usually on netbooks, the keyboard is just that little bit too small to use properly and becomes very frustrating, however this keyboard is much better and I have not had the same problems.

You also get all the extras you would like to have, those being wireless and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a built in camera so you can stay in touch while on the move.

The core of the computer is just that little bit better than its competitors too – the processor is a little faster, there is a 160GB hard drive and 1GB of RAM. Needless to say it is also a very light machine!

So when you take all this into consideration, the fact you can pick one up for around $450 is practically a steal! Compared to its predecessor, the Asus 1000H, it is a far superior piece of equipment.

The only downsides to this netbook are its lack of extra features which other netbooks do have, such as the express card slot on Lenovo’s S10 computer. Even without these added bells and whistles, the EEE 1000HE is a great machine, and the white color is just a nice little touch which sets you apart when browsing your emails in the park, with the built in WIFI on of course!
